SSV Network splits your validator key across independent operators — so no single machine, and no single operator, is a point of failure.

Key Splitting

Your Key, Divided

Your validator's BLS private key is split into encrypted shares using Shamir's Secret Sharing. No single operator ever holds the complete key. The full key is never reassembled during operation.

Distributed Operation

Active Across Nodes

Key shares run simultaneously across independent nodes in separate geographies via IBFT consensus. There is no primary to fail over from. A cluster tolerates multiple offline nodes before missing a duty.

On-Chain Verification

One Valid Signature

Partial BLS signatures from each operator are aggregated into a single valid validator signature. The beacon chain sees a standard validator. Your rewards accrue as expected.

Distributed Key Generation (DKG)

IceNode supports DKG — operators collaboratively generate key shares without the complete validator key ever existing on any single machine. Zero-knowledge from the first moment.

Go to the SSV Network app, connect your wallet, and register your validator. DKG is supported — the full key never needs to exist on a single machine.

Select Operators

Add IceNode to Your Cluster

Search for IceNode in the operator directory and add us to your cluster. Choose a cluster size of 4 (tolerates 1 failure) or 7 (tolerates 2 failures).

Activate

Fund and Go Live

Deposit SSV tokens to cover operator fees and activate your cluster. Your validator begins attesting within minutes. Rewards accrue to your withdrawal credentials as normal.
